It was rainy today.
I posted an entry regarding "Kamikakushi Trial" recently and there was another public hearing for the case. There will be a judgement soon, but I don’t think they will sentence him to death, although both he and the bereaved family are strongly hoping for the the death penalty. His act was very brutal and nothing can excuse what he has done, but he is a first offender and he shows a sign of regret to some degree. I think they should give him a chance to go straight and he should live to atone for his sin. That’s because even for me, to live is often much more painful than to die…..
I’m paying attention to how the judge will give decision to this case. Through this trial, we are going to see where Japanese judicature will go.
